QUAKE SUSTAINABLE FASHION MONTH ‘22

Part 3

SUSTAINABLE SANCTUARY

You know what feels the best? Discovering clothes that work for you but work for the planet too. Clothes you can feel proud wearing. Your own style sanctuary.

(Suit and Jumpsuit) Femponiq is a sustainable woman-owned designer brand, whose goal is to empower women globally through unique and modern clothing to promote confidence in every woman.

We are inspired by the art of innovation, contemporary art and architecture. Abstract shapes and colours play a significant role in all of our collections. We find inspiration in nature, art galleries, and museums our world has to offer; Tate Modern being one of our favourite inspirational hubs in our hometown of London.

FEMPONIQ lives and breathes sustainability from sourcing natural fabrics to the recycled e-commerce boxes that are delivered to the client’s doors. Every step of this cycle is designed to protect our environment and to create a long-lasting joy of our exclusive garments. We would like to make women feel good with our clothing without harming our beautiful planet. We strongly believe that the future of fashion should be inclusive, transparent and empowering.

(Jewellery) Helga Jewellery is a one-woman-band creating modern pearl jewellery for the person who loves this gem. All the pieces are handcrafted by her.

But what I can do to reduce my carbon impact is to offer free repairs of my pieces to ensure their longevity and using vintage postcards and photographs as "thank you" notes to avoid using virgin materials. I also source directly from pearl farms and cooperatives in China to further reduce my carbon impact but eliminating the middleman in my supply chain. It's impossible to do everything perfectly and as long as I'm continuously trying, I hope I'm part of the change the world needs right now.

I did a lot of research and being an independent brand, it's extremely hard to ascertain how ethical and sustainable my supply chains are.

(Skirt) LD.R is a conscious, contemporary womenswear label born with a vision to create a wardrobe for the modern woman - one that not only celebrates the woman herself, but also the local craftspeople who produce it and the natural environment that provides us with the raw materials.

“Founded by Australian-born and London-based designer Lily Rose Dambelli, LR.D philosophy is ‘that fashion trends come and go, but well-designed garments can be reimagined each year, remaining in season forever.

There’s no perfect way to be sustainable, but a fierce commitment to using responsible materials and production methods with a low environmental impact is woven through the seams of every LR.D garment.

Made locally in London for fair living wages and in small production runs, we aim to inspire conscious consumption habits, ensure garment longevity and advocate for transparent supply chains.”
